PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana

PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at promoting clean energy adoption by enabling residential households to install rooftop solar power systems. Launched in 2024, the scheme seeks to provide affordable and sustainable electricity by offering substantial financial assistance for solar panel installation, allowing eligible households to receive up to 300 units of free electricity every month. Beyond reducing electricity bills, the initiative encourages energy self-reliance, lowers carbon emissions, creates employment opportunities in the renewable energy sector, and strengthens India's transition towards a greener economy. Through a dedicated online portal, beneficiaries can apply for subsidies, choose authorised vendors, and monitor the installation process, making the adoption of rooftop solar technology more accessible and transparent across the country.

Bangla Krishi Sech Yojana

Bangla Krishi Sech Yojana is a Government of West Bengal initiative focused on expanding irrigation infrastructure and ensuring reliable water availability for farmers to improve agricultural productivity and resilience. The scheme aims to strengthen irrigation coverage through the development and restoration of water resources, installation of irrigation facilities, promotion of efficient water management practices, and support for sustainable agricultural development, particularly for small and marginal farmers. By improving access to irrigation, the programme seeks to reduce dependence on erratic rainfall, encourage multiple cropping seasons, increase farm incomes, conserve water resources, and contribute to long-term food security and rural economic growth. The initiative forms an important part of the state's broader strategy to modernise agriculture while promoting resource-efficient and climate-resilient farming practices.

Maatir Katha

Maatir Katha is an integrated digital agricultural platform developed by the Government of West Bengal to empower farmers with timely, accurate, and scientific information related to agriculture and allied sectors. Functioning as a comprehensive knowledge portal, it brings together services from multiple departments, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Agricultural Marketing, enabling farmers to access information on crop planning, quality seeds, soil health, fertilizers, irrigation, pest and disease management, weather conditions, market prices, government schemes, and modern cultivation practices. By leveraging information and communication technology (ICT), Maatir Katha enhances farmers' decision-making capabilities, promotes sustainable farming methods, improves productivity, and ensures that agricultural advisory services reach even the grassroots level through Common Service Centres and digital platforms across West Bengal.
